Cairo is not one of the world's premier culinary destinations, but a broad range of international food is available. In particular, neighbourhoods such as Mohandiseen and Zamalek and the City Stars Mall are home to international restaurants and chains offering similar menus to back home, though the ingredient quality is variable and may not match the standards of cities such as London and Paris.
Egyptian cuisine is basic and filling, with dishes such as fuul (fava beans), falafel, koshary (a mixture of pasta, rice, lentils, tomato sauce, lemon juice, fried onions and optionally meat and/or spicy sauce), shakshouka (scrambled eggs with tomatoes, peppers and spices) and bread making up the majority of the traditional Egyptian “breakfast” which is eaten all day long. It's also great value, with a decent sized meal available from street stalls and small cafes for less than 5LE. Lebanese cuisine is similar, though considered more upmarket, and numerous Lebanese restaurants are to found in most neighbourhoods – most of which offer a more accessible experience for tourists than the street cafes.
Alcohol
Cairo is a predominantly Muslim city, and alcohol is not widely available in restaurants. Some areas, such as the Coptic-inhabited Heliopolis, have “off-licence” type shops which sell alcohol for consumption at home, and western-style pubs and bars do exist. Foreign restaurants (e.g. TGI Fridays) usually sell locally produced beer (Stella, Sakara, Heineken) but wine and spirits may not be as readily available.

This is a French Bakery located in Mohandseen. They open from two o'clock in the afternoon up till one o'clock at night. They have braches in City Stars at Nasr City, Heliopolis, Zamalek and Maadi.

It's a Mexican and American cuisine restauarant. They have a moderate charging rate but there's a minimum charge of 40 pounds..
